Our design philosophy is simple:
Life is meant to be lived... Your home can (and should!) be both beautiful and comfortable.
Our services include comprehensive interior design for renovations and new construction, as well as kitchen design, redecorating, home staging, custom-designed textiles and window treatments, holiday and event decorating, and more.
We serve residential and commercial clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond.
Jamie Merida’s path to an interior design career was unconventional, but not surprising. He grew up in Belgium and Kentucky, traveling the world with his parents as they built a thriving art and antiques business. He gained a design education through osmosis, taking in the details of classic architecture, furnishings, and textiles.
Jamie went on to become a concert pianist as his first career, but he had an entrepreneurial drive that left him restless. After going back to school to study business, he combined his love of art and design with his passion for entrepreneurship and launched Bountiful Home, one of the most successful home furnishings and décor stores in the Mid-Atlantic region. Shortly after that, the Jamie Merida Interiors design studio was launched. The studio is known for its “traditional made modern” aesthetic. Jamie’s respect for classic design and appreciation for modern materials and color palettes is evident in all his work, including his named collection for Chelsea House.
Denise has over 35 years of experience in the interior design industry. Originally from Martinsburg, West Virginia, she earned a degree in Interior Design from Fairmont State University before accepting a position at the Washington Design Center in Washington, DC. In 1987, Denise and her family moved to the Eastern Shore and she continued her career as an allied member and recording secretary of the American Society of Interior Design (ASID) Eastern Shore Chapter, and eventually joined the team at Jamie Merida Interiors in 2005. Her work has been published in Home & Design, Cottage Journal, and DC Magazine, among others. She loves working with clients to create beautiful, inviting living spaces that embody their personalities and aesthetic preferences.
Carol began her design career 35 years ago in Peterborough, NH. After moving to Easton in 1997, she took a few years off to raise her two (now grown) daughters. She then dusted off her design skills working for Wright's Interiors and Jean McHale Design. Since 2016, she has been doing both residential and commercial design at Jamie Merida Interiors. Carol believes that the key to a successful design collaboration relies on being a good listener and paying close attention to her clients' design aesthetic, likes/dislikes, and lifestyle.
Leigh was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After graduating from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, she returned home to pursue her passion for interior design. Leigh's innate creativity and unique style help her turn clients' dream spaces into reality. What Leigh finds most compelling about design is that no two projects are the same. Every day offers new challenges as she works alongside clients to create their version of the perfect home.
Melanie began working in the interior design industry nearly two decades ago. Originally from Annapolis, Maryland, she attended both Anne Arundel Community College and the Savannah College of Art and Design. After leaving school, she moved to the Eastern Shore and started her design career working for Jamie almost 20 years ago. After taking some time off to raise her two children, Melanie rejoined the team and has completed projects in a range of design aesthetics, including classic, coastal, and luxe/modern. Melanie loves antiques and tends to take a more traditional, French-inspired approach to design, but her greatest passion lies in getting to know her clients and creating elegant, comfortable environments that uniquely reflect their owners.
